Where I'm From

I am from the rain that falls to the ground and almost never stops.
I am from my roots that travel to the border of Mexico.
I am from my family's traditions of getting together and laughing.
I am from my memories I shared with my family and friends.
I am from the love and care they gave me when I needed it most.
I am from my Latin culture that teaches me that family is the most important thing you could have.
I am from the musicians an singers, from the dancers and cooks.
I am from the farm lands with horses and cows where my mom ran.
I am from the quiet nights looking at the stars.
I am from my friendships and their memories.
I am from those cold winter nights spent playing in the snow.
I am from the best of the music of my culture.
